Is 0 or 00g bigger?
When you get to 0g, the next size is 00g (pronounced “double zero gauge”). 00g is equal to about 3/8 of an inch. After 00g, we run out of gauge sizes, so we use fractions of an inch instead. The next size after 00g is 7/16″.
Can you go back from 00g?
Most people can go between 2g (6mm) – 00g (10mm) and expect their ears to revert back to a normal piercing, after a few months of healing. If you don’t want stretched ears forever, be sure to stretch slowly and never skip sizes.
Will double zero gauges close up?
Keep in mind though that everyone’s anatomy is different, but the majority of people will be able to take their plugs out at 2 -0 gauge and your lobes will look normal after a 2 – 3 months of closing up. There are also other factors that will affect the permanency of your size.
Will 00 gauges shrink?
If you stretch your lobe to 00g or smaller, you are a much better candidate for your ear going back to “normal”. However, if you stretch your ear to a severely large size – like an inch in diameter – then your chances are much smaller that your ear will ever go back to the way it was.
Can your ears heal from gauges?
The earlobe can shrink back to its normal size if the earring or gauge is less than 14mm or a size 2 gauge. Anything larger than this size will require reconstructive surgery. Stretching of the ear with gauge piercings is a process that takes many months and should not be rushed.
Is 0g the point of no return?
In North America, most stretching methods go up by a single even-sized gauge increment at a time. 0g (8 mm), is generally considered to be “the point of no return”: a hole larger than this size will rarely close to a standard piercing size.
Do your ears go back to normal after stretching?
A stretched ear can grow back if you didn’t stretch it too far. Extreme stretching may leave permanent holes in your earlobes. Stretched ears can be surgically repaired.
Can I close my 00 gauges?
Because your ear lobes have healed around the tunnel, plug, or taper you used to stretch the ear, your ears will never completely close. Keep in mind that your best expectation is to shrink the size of the holes. If you experienced tearing, infections, or blowouts, your ears may not shrink as much.
Will 00g stretched ears shrink back to normal?
“When stretched beyond 00g, or the lobes just don’t shrink, surgery is the best solution,” says Dr. Mamelak. The procedure is typically performed as an office visit, with local anesthesia.
