Are treehouses safe in the forest?
The Tree House is a very safe shelter because creatures are unable to climb the rope into it. Like other shelters, the tree house provides the player with the options to Sleep and Save their progress. Two types of tree houses exist in The Forest, the standard type and an alternative, called the Alpine Tree House.
How do I place a tree platform in the forest?
The tree platform that can be built with or without a built in climbing rope, using the R key on the blueprint before it is built. As with the tree house and the alpine tree house they must be built in a fully grown tree. Tree Platforms require 7 logs to be built and once completed can be climbed via the attached rope.
What is the gazebo for in the forest?
It serves no purpose other than decoration, as it can not be interacted with. Currently the gazebo requires the most sticks of any player made structure. The final amount of logs is determined whether it needs additional foundations and how high it is placed.

What happens if you have 0 sanity in The Forest?
What does sanity do? It has been confirmed that Sanity has no effect on the player whatsoever. The developers had plans to incorporate effects, however at this stage it has no effect. The only thing it does is allow the player to build effigies.
Do lag bolts hurt trees?
Bolting and nailing into a tree will cause some damage, but healthy trees can respond quickly to compartmentalize around the injured area. Over time, trees will add structural material to strengthen the weak spot.
