Can you swim anywhere in Central Park?
There is only one place to go swimming in Central Park, and that is Lasker Pool, located mid-park between 106th and 108th Streets. It features both a wading pool and Olympic-sized pool for visitors to enjoy.
Is Central Park pool free?
The pool itself is free of charge, and also offers free swimming lessons and free sunscreen. Lasker Pool runs a series of free programming throughout the summer. Kids can partake in Learn to Swim lessons, and for adults there are the “Early Bird” and “Night Owl” lap-swim programs.

There are no age limits when it comes to learning how to swim. Get on Youtube and search for “swim lessons.” There are many videos out there, and you can easily teach yourself, but after basics, you need to take classes from an experienced coach who has rich experience and also a good swimmer. Age is not an issue.

We offer learn to swim classes for adults and kids, as well as toddlers. Participants will learn basic swimming and safety skills. Our Adaptive Swim program for people with disabilities offers aquatic exercise therapy that ranges from gentle water walking to aerobic-type exercise.
